Nine club members (Harold, John, Cindy, Gregg, Mark, Josh, Mike, Kathy, Mike and Bob) met with the faculty and students at the MCAT Student of the Quarter ceremonies. MCAT Principal Elizabeth Schimke led the proceedings to honor Student of the Quarter, General Spruell.
During the ceremony, various teachers and staff members spoke to General’s outstanding qualities and amazing personal growth they witnessed during his time at MCAT. His family members also praised his growth.
When asked to address the audience, General was very soft-spoken. He was open about his initial rebelliousness and struggles with schooling and life in general (no pun intended).
He expressed his satisfaction with MCAT, the other students and displayed an optimism about the future.
Principal Schimke presented General with a certificate designating him as the MCAT Student of the Quarter while Club President, Cindy Dooling, presented General with certificate and gift card from the Club in recognition of his accomplishment.
Club members spent some time talking with General and his family, as well as with staff members of MCAT before ending the event.

Four members of our club (Harold, Bob, Cindy and John) spent a little over two hours performing small potato bagging duties at the Food Bank. After finally figuring out how to get those little plastic fish net bags open, the team proceeded to bag several hundred pounds of potatoes into shopping cart ready packages. The Food Bank team expressed their appreciation to our club for their work and support.
