The "Build a Home In a Day" community service project was humbling and rewarding.

President De La Cruz was unable to attend the meeting and requested Don Jorgensen preside. Don began with advising all members that next week we meet at 7:15 at MCAT for our meeting. Kathy Jorgensen will bring munchies. Following the MCAT meeting, those who are able will head over to the Marana Food Bank and assist with their operation as needed.
Next followed much discussion about adopting a family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Members showed enthusiasm for this activity and I believe Kathy Jorgensen is spear heading this endeavor.
Last year we had a booth at the Marana Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, and all want to do it again. The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday 12/7/2024 starting at 2PM. This conflicts with the 2PM start time of UA basketball game but we should have plenty of volunteers for the 5PM to closing shift! Hopefully Andrea can assist with signing up for this event.
Cindy Dooling brought up the RYLA weekend coming up soon. This is intended for high school students who show leadership qualities and want to develop those skills. We contemplate an MCAT student plus maybe another from MHS. Mark will put out the word.
Beckie and Dan led a discussion on Tour de Cookie. This year the ride will begin and end in Marana! No county permits!! The exact route is still in limbo as is the site for packet pickup. Possibly the Outlet Store location. Christine shared email addresses for Carissa.Kortekass@Simon.com and Jennifer.Krhovsky@Simon.com. They are the Operation Director and Office Administrator respectively.

Dan-Covid X4. Trout fishing in Pinetop. Grumbled about growing old and the energy it takes to watch all three grandkids for a day.
Harold-Breakfast with his airport buddies and commented only two members missed to days meeting
Cindy-Saw the 10th inning walk off grand slam with son George as the Dodgers beat the Yankees in first game of the World Series.
John-Got a good dentist
Peter-Wiring a Kitt Peak telescope which when finished will be open to public.
Kathy-Caring for 8-month-old Golden puppy. Great joy watching it chew up shoes etc. Unfortunately, it has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia

Presentation
Don presented 84 slides of the recent trip to Tecate, México with club members Kathy and Bob and numerous other Rotarians from District 5500 to build a home in one day. The Corazon Project has built numerous homes for needy families. All building material is provided. The concrete pad has been poured but all remaining construction and painting is completed in a single day. All three members indicated they would like to participate again next year.
