The Rotary Club of Marana has its second member ascend to the Rotary District 5500 Governor position.
Rotary Club of Marana member Don Jorgensen was installed as Rotary District 5500 Governor Sunday, June 25, at a ceremony held at the Gaslight Theatre. Jorgensen joined the Marana Rotary Club in 2007. He has been recognized for advancing the efforts of ShelterBox USA, a global disaster relief organization, in addition to local and international community service projects on behalf of the Marana Rotary.

Officiating Jorgensen’s installation as district governor was former business partner and fellow Marana Rotarian Randy Brooks, who previously served as District 5500 Governor. Attending the ceremony were Jorgensen’s wife, Kathy, and daughter Jana, along with other family members.

Rotary District 5500 includes more than 50 clubs, stretching from Yuma to Douglas, with more than 1400 members. Prior to ascending to the district governor’s position, Jorgensen led the development of the district’s strategic plan that will guide District 5500 for the next three years.
