Location: NWFD Training Facility
Speaker: Principal of MUSD MCAT, Beverly Schimke
Meeting began although our ZOOM attendees could not be heard. They were forced to use Chat for questions or comments. This had to with a power failure overnight at the training facility affecting the synchronization of sound and video.
New member Beverly showed her skills learned in the classroom by leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Cindy told us that NO UXO reached their $50,000 yearly goal and will start another drive in December. This year they removed 2 500 pound bombs, one 750 pound bomb and an additional 40 deadly unexploded ordinance from a football field size area in Laos. Looks like our $2,000 donation is making a difference.
We are sharing service project info with Dove Mountain and Tucson Sunset Clubs and soon to share speaker lists.
We have reserved a House of Friendship Table at the District Conference in Tubac, AZ. Let's have a good turnout from Marana Club!!!
The first Peacebuilders E-Networking meeting scheduled for 8/27/2025 at 6PM.

Looking like 3/7/2026 is Tour de Cookie day.
Happy Bucks

John-Got to see grandson graduate from Army Basic Training.
Cindy-Ditto
Kathy- I apologize but missed a lot. I "think" her daughter's family is living with her and Don.
Beverly Schimke is a native Tucsonan having graduated from Pusch Ridge Christian Academy. She is happy about her brother adopting three siblings to go with his other two kids. She played soccer and basketball in HS and a small liberal arts school in Kansas. She taught at Vail and Mica Mountain. Wants to stress post high school critical thinking skills to her new charges. What happens AFTER they get the diploma? She is planning a job fair and expects 200 kids to attend. Last year Don Jorgensen and John Dooling participated.
Meeting adjourned a little early. Again, our apologies to those on ZOOM who could not be heard. Maybe the reason for the early recess perhaps?
