At the club’s monthly business meeting, members discussed plans for supporting families in need for the holidays and the club’s Holiday Dinner.
Rotary Club of Marana Business Meeting
October 24, 2023
We began our meeting today with heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Cindy Dooling who received recognition with a Paul Harris plus 2 Pin from Rotary International. Cindy has donated $3000 to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) in support of local and international grant projects and the End Polio Now campaign. Thank you, Cindy, for so generously contributing to Rotary efforts to do good in the world.
Announcements and Discussions:
- We will be dark next week.
- The Arizona-Mexico Friendship Conference will be this weekend in Prescott. DG Don has committed $40,000 District Designated Funds to spend on any of 16 projects that will be presented.
- A member of the Kino Rotary Club alerted us to a Global Grant Water Project in Kenya that is looking for an international partner. More information to be gathered before further discussion.
- Club Holiday Dinner on November 29 at L’il Abner’s Steakhouse. Partners welcome! RSVP to Andrea.
- Registration for Tour de Cookie opens December 1. Registration will be limited to 500.
- Discussion regarding Recycling Signage for Casa Alitas that serves meals to immigrant families. The club unanimously agreed to participate in this effort to help educate new members of our community regarding recycling and the environment.
- Discussion regarding family support for the holidays. We will support two families for Thanksgiving and Christmas and will coordinate with MCAT High School. Dan to coordinate with MCAT.
